About

Let’s first start with me. My name is Elysa, I am a 26 year old Graphic Designer in Texas. I have a wide variety of interests ranging from wine to widgets. I surround myself with pretty things, my friends, artwork, and even my food is pretty (for the most part). I like to browse the web for new and interesting ideas. I am the queen of social networking sites.

I decided to start GenPink for a few reasons. The majority of the blogs I found written by women are “mommy blogs,” since I am not a mom I wanted something a little different. Also, I thought this would be a great venue to share all of my fun findings in one place.

GenPink is about being a twenty something woman. Letting others know how our generation is different than those before us. We are career women, single & married, girl friends, and individuals. There is a delicate balance in being an individual and being part of a support system for your friends, family and your environment. GenPink is about balancing family and work, technology, entertainment, and exploration of new ideas.

I love this! I just found your site. If I read one more mommy blog… I’m officially not responsible for my own actions. Thank you for your pioneering efforts and innovation! I will definitely keep on reading :)

Thank you thank you thank you! Too many girls feel the need to settle down straight out of college. I am nearly out of college and am looking to get my PhD the last thing on my mind is being a mommy. I am still learning how to be independadnt.

GenPink is awesome!!! I don’t think this is a battle or site to point out the difference between those who choose to settle down and have a different perspective on life….rather, a celebration of the independance, creativity, and wealth of knowledge in today’s twentysomething women. So refreshing! You rock!

    I hope you don’t mind the “intrusion” of a 30-something! Although I’m 31, in my heart I am still a 20-something gal. :)

I just happened upon your blog, and I wanted to say that I really love the idea. I just started blogging, and in my particular industry especially, I find that most bloggers are moms and it’s often hard for me to relate since I have no kids.

I’ll definitely be back to GenPink to get some un-mommy blog time!!

Very cool! Also wanted to contribute that I’m the big 3-0, but still applaud your ideas in spite of my wizened and crotchety old age.
I do have a um, “mommy blog” (I gag a little every time I hear the term), but I’ve tried to do something different with it: http://peneloccupation.blogspot.com.
Also, you might like SmartiniBar: http://smartinibar.blogspot.com, another place where 20-something smart women (and me) gather. –pen

Boys are welcome as long as they promise to play nice and not be too embarrassed when we talk about bras.
