Things to do before your 30th

A post about 30 Books Everyone Should Read Before Their 30th Birthday made me wonder if there were many "things you should do before you’re 30" lists. After some googleage I found a few interesting lists but for the most part they are too generic for me. Then, I remember that I’ve always wanted to do the 101 Things in 1001 Days thing. I’ve wanted to do this since I saw it on Zandria’s site (May of 2007 to be exact). So, from here the little hamster wheel in my brain started running and I wanted to figure out how to make my 101 days end at my 30th birthday - I know I’m so clever aren’t I?

How do you figure out when 101 days before your birthday is do you ask? Well there is this fancy (or not so fancy) Add or Subtract from a date calculator site. Turns out my 101 days needs to start May 12, 2009. So I have until then to write my list. To help me, and you if you decide to jump on this bandwagon, I’ve found that having categories to compile your 1001 things list helps. Here are a few that I’ve found from various lists.

  • Simplifying Life
  • Friends/Family
  • Faith, Health & Wellbeing
  • Education/Personal Improvement
  • Work & Creativity
  • Travel, Environment & Experiences
  • Finances
  • Just for Me
  • Giving to Others
  • Writing/Blogging
  • Trying New Things
  • Local

So what do you think? Have you done the 101 things yet? Also, I’d love any random ideas for me to add to my list - surprisingly I’ve done a lot of the things on the things to do before you’re 30 list.

Some links to help you get started on your list:

101 one hundred and ones

101 one hundred and ones

That would be one hundred and one, one hundred and ones, not one-O-ones. This is a list of 101 different 101 lists.

The real question should be why does step by step instructions (101) have to be the same as a list of one hundred and one things (101).

There is something about the 101 list that always grabs my attention. I thought it would be fun to see if I could find 101 different 101 lists.

Happy bookmarking!
