Bet you can’t say “Fall fitness fashion” three times fast. Are you the type of person that would normally put “fashion” and “fitness” in the same sentence? I’ve come to love fashionable athletic wear. It only takes one wardrobe malfunction at the gym to confirm that with athletic wear quality is very important. So, I was excited when an opportunity came up to partner with PUMA and FitFluential to try out some of their training essentials.

PUMA sent me the ultimate goodie bag with two full outfits to try!

PUMA Performance Essentials:

  • Gym Tank: as we all know some gym tops can be anything but feminine. And if they are they might not fit in all the right places. For working out it’s essential to have support, some sort of sweat consideration (this particular PUMA gym tank has LYCRA SPORT!), as well as durability.
  • PUMA Move 3/4 Capris: Oh how I love well fitting capris for hitting the gym! I’m not exactly sure what kind of magic the designers at PUMA put in these, but they have the perfect amount of holding-all-the-things-in ability while still feeling very flexible. It’s hard to explain, but if you’ve ever worn Spanx that are too tight you’d know the opposite of what I’m talking about. These make my butt look fabulous… if I do say so myself.
  • Mobium XT Shoes: The fun turquoise shoes are cross-trainers built lower to ground to increase agility. They’ve got a great balance of support and bend. I’m a year post-foot surgery so I’m still very aware of my feet when I work out. I did two miles of walk/run combo in these and felt well supported the whole time. PUMA’s promise says these shoes are “made to with you, not against you.”

We are fortunate to have a great gym less than a mile from our house, as well as amazing walking trails. This weekend we decided to take the long way around to the gym before our workout. I stopped for a bit off one of the pathways to stretch and switch to my Cardio playlist. If I link you to my workout playlist do you promise not to laugh at my early 2000s booty-shaking selections? For whatever reason, the songs I love working out to old-school hip hop, Britney, Outcast, and the type of music we used to hear in the clubs when I was in college.

I think total we walked 2 miles. The Mobium XTs felt great the entire time. It was nice to get away from the gadgets for a bit, enjoy nature, and just spend some time together. According to Psychology Today, couples who workout together, stay together.

By the time we left the gym it was starting to get dark so the temperatures dropped. I put on the sweatshirt and trend pants (details below) on top of the other items. Surprisingly the double pants didn’t feel too bulky.

Fitness Fashion Comfort:

  • French Terry Sweatshirt: This sweatshirt reminds me a bit of the classic PUMA sweatshirt that was so popular when I was in middle school. But this one, is so much cooler. The length and extended collar keep you from looking like you stole your boyfriend’s hoodie. You can add this to your gym bag for post-workout errands or throw it on with jeans for weekend errands.
  • Progressive Trend Pants: While I’ll probably not ever join the trend of wearing athletic pants with heels, I do see how PUMA’s Progressive Trend Pants can be considered fashion-forward. When I was wearing them, the first thing I noticed is how soft they are on the inside. Like the PUMA tank, these slouchy pants have dryCELL material to draw away sweat. And fun geek-girl bonus: they have some reflectivity magic in the material to make you more visible for night-owl workouts.
  • Carson Runner: And last but certainly not lease, we have some stylin’ shoes. If you’ve been around Genpink for more than a minute you might know that anything hot pink is my jam! So, I love the laces and the lining on these. The pink lining is actually an anti-microbial sockliner. Fancy, ehh? These will become frequent errand running shoes around here.

I’m a fan of the kangaroo-pocket (clearly, not the official term) in the sweatshirt for holding my phone.

  1. I’m loving the sweatshirt! I tend to gravitate towards
gray gym clothing and this one is too cool to pass on. The shoes look very
comfy, I’m curious how they work on rocky roads; I jog along a deserted street
and the road is very bumpy. Lucky you, these goodies kick ass!

  2. @Samantha I haven’t tried the off-road running yet. I will have to investigate. So far they’ve mostly been in the gym and on the walking paths. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Cool post! I liked the workout clothes and how you linked to Psychology Today, because I didn’t know that.
