OOTD: Orange and Camo

OOTD: Orange and Camo// GenPink

I had the privilege of meeting my childhood idols, the Olsen twins, this past week thanks to Oh So Cynthia and her fabulous ability of knowing everyone and everything exciting going on in Dallas.

So, what’s a girl on a budget to wear to meet these pint-sized moguls? You got it dude, orange and camo!

Orange is the new black for spring 2014, according to the runways during New York Fashion Week. C’mon, haven’t you heard? It’s only the hot-to-have color this spring but my hesitation is most likely the same as what you are thinking, “how to I style neon orange without looking like a traffic cone?” Well, I was pretty satisfied with what I came up with.

I found this amazing neon orange ‘fancy sweatshirt’ from Gap and it was just the perfect way for me to test these neon orange waters. It was just basic enough that I was confident I could style it with whatever I had in my closet. Which, I was able to do. I decided to keep it simple up top since the neon orange was loud enough. I paired it with my favorite Kendra Scott earrings that were a coral color that went really well with the neon orange. Needing to polish up my look a bit since I was technically wearing a sweatshirt, I grabbed my white J. Crew skinnies.

Side note. If you are in need of a pair of white jeans, I cannot recommend these jeans enough. They are amazing. It took me a lot of searching to find the perfect pair of white jeans. They were all either too stretchy, too see-through, too baggy, too something that did not work. These J. Crew Matchstick Jeans are well worth the investment.

I was unsure what shoes would match this color combination but suddenly remembered these great pair of camo loafers I got at GAP a while back. Loved the look. None of the colors or patterns were too overbearing and I felt comfortable enough meeting my favorite childhood TV stars. Who didn’t love Full House? If you were not a fan, I’m going to need you to cut-it-out.
