Pinterest Pressure: “Unfinished” Home Tour

I received a notice several weeks ago from Timehop that one year ago we were in the process of waiting on our loan to go through so we could buy our very first house! When we started the home buying process I envisioned we’d have a whole series of Young House Love-esque posts. The house we were buying certainly needed some revamping, so I figured we’d have the perfect before and after photos to share on this here blog.

Fast forward one year, we are just a few weeks shy of 15 months as home owners. Want to guess how many house related blog posts I’ve done? If you guessed “one” you win… something.

The problem is, I’ve spent too much time on Pinterest the last couple of years. I keep thinking, “if we could just add a little more DIY to this room it would be ready to show.” For anyone who currently owns a home, you know that there is never a “finished product”. So, I took pictures of each room in my house and I’m going to share a room-by-room house tour. We still have a 72-line-item Excel file of house-to-dos. But I’m ignoring the Pinterest pressure and sharing real life. Well, let’s be honest – I did wait to take these photos on a day when the house was clean.
