Vitruvian Salsa Festival (Aug. 5, 12, 19, 26)
Bring your dancing shoes to Vitruvian Park’s Amphitheater every Saturday in August from 6–10 p.m. for the Vitruvian Salsa Festival. Enjoy live music, DJs, food trucks and salsa lessons with Luis Delgadillo of SalsaDallas frp, 6:30–7 p.m.

Addison Summer Series (Aug. 5, 12, 19, 26)
Every Saturday night this summer (including all of August!), enjoy live music from a variety of bands at Addison Summer Series. Performances begin at 8 p.m. in Beckert Park. Admission is FREE, and the event is fun for all ages. Don’t forget to pack a picnic basket and blanket/lawn chairs. See the musical lineup here.
Back to School Mimosa Walk (Aug. 6)
Give back to the community while shopping and drinking at the Bishop Arts District’s Back to School Mimosa Walk. Event goers will enjoy 10 mimosa tastings in the shops participating in the walk, as well as a commemorative glass cup they can take home. Tickets range from $20-30.
Moroccan Medina Pop-Up at Galleria Dallas (Aug. 10)
Experience the magic of Morocco at Earthbound Trading Co.’s colorful pop-up shop at Galleria Dallas. Come by this free event on August 10 to check out the vintage collection, sip Moroccan tea and enter to win a leather pouf ($225 value) or a $250 gift card to Earthbound Trading Co. Items from the collection include beautiful rugs, pillows, traditional poufs, hand-woven market bags, hammered tea trays, tea glasses, tagines, lanterns and more. Fun fact: This collection was inspired by the company’s 10-day journey through the Atlas Mountains, crowded medinas of Marrakech and narrow alleyways of Fes. While there, the group learned the rich history behind Moroccan handiwork. The items from this event will be available for purchase at the store for a month. Earthbound Trading Co. is located on Level 3C at Galleria Dallas.
90s Bar Crawl (Aug. 12)
Here’s a chance to bust out your old school 90s wardrobe and to meet TV star Kel Mitchell (Kenan & Kel, Goodburger)! Attendees have a chance to visit nine bars in Uptown Dallas, get drink specials throughout the day and an event t-shirt after visiting all of the bars. And to add to the excitement, VIP ticket holders are guaranteed a meet & greet photo with Kel! Tickets range from $25-40.
Kellogg’s Summer Soiree benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters (Aug. 12)
Come for a celebration of Mediterranean Summer! Join our Roman Carnival of merry-making, feasting and flowing libations! Roman attire is encouraged. The 12th Annual Summer Soiree is joyfully presented as a community service of Northwestern University’s Kellogg Alumni Club of Dallas Fort-Worth in support of the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters in Greater Dallas. Our purpose is to raise funds and attract volunteers to Big Brothers Big Sisters. This is a no-overhead, volunteer-managed event. Right now, in the Dallas area alone, over 1,000 children are waiting for a “Big” to come into their lives. 100% of the net proceeds are used to get “Littles” off of the waiting lists and match them with “Bigs.” Tickets range between $100-125.
Monday Medley (Aug. 14 & 21)
Check out the brand new event in Addison this summer called Monday Medley. Kick back to a collection of music, dance and comedy over select Monday nights throughout the summer. (August dates include the 14th with guitarist Eddie Healy and on the 21st with classic R&B artist Denise Lee.) The event takes place in the courtyard by the Addison Theatre Center. All performances are free and begin at 7:30 p.m.
ABBA the Concert – A Tribute (Aug. 19)
The jams of ABBA are coming to a show at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. (I already have “Mamma Mia” stuck in my head!) See the iconic hits on August 19. Tickets range from $34-$59.
First Feline Film Festival (Aug. 24)
Cat lovers — see cute and funny cat videos from around the world at the First Feline Film Festival. Videos are curated by Dallas VideoFest. The new reel will feature 80 mins of cat videos culled from nominations by the public in the categories of Comedy, Drama, Animated, Musical, Action, Vintage, and Documentary. Tickets are $15 and proceeds go toward helping a local shelter.
McKinney Classic Film Festival (Aug. 25-27)
McKinney Classic Film Festival fosters a love of movies from an earlier era. See five popular classics throughout the weekend in late August at the McKinney Performing Arts Center. Tickets are as follows: $15 Adult; $10 Child/Student/Senior Admission.
