Texas Monthly’s Edge of Texas Festival (Sept. 7-8)

The second annual Texas Monthly Edge of Texas, presented by VisitDallas, celebrates the most fascinating and entertaining subjects, stories, and people from across the state. Over two days, attendees will get up close access to thought-leaders, newsmakers, musicians, and chefs in the most consequential and compelling conversation about the future of Texas.

The weekend is broken into three parts with a kick off on Friday, September 7 with “Among the Outlaws: Live Music + Documentary Film + Conversations,” a special 90-minute program featuring a collection of film clips from “They Called Us Outlaws,” a documentary series currently in production, live performances by legendary musicians including Joe ElyJessi ColterJack Ingram, and Holly Williams, and a panel discussion featuring Filmmaker Eric Geadelmann, Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum CEO Kyle Young, and some of the stars from the film.

The bulk of Saturday will involve Texas Monthly writers and editors in conversation with prominent Texans, including podcaster Tim Ferriss, commentator Dale Hansen, reality star Rachel Lindsay, renowned chef John Tesar, and many more.

Saturday night’s closing celebration will feature food from Bruno Davaillon of Bullion, John Tesar of Knife, Callie Speer of Holy Roller, Katherine Clapner of Dude, Sweet Chocolate, Pitmaster Ronnie Killen of Killen’s Barbecue, and Jordan Jackson of Bodacious Bar-B-Q. There will be pop-ups from BIRD Bakery, Antonelli’s Cheese Shop, and Hello Trouble Hall. Plus, one of a kind experiences from virtual reality firm SubVRsive, a Kendra Scott Color Bar, and art installations curated by SWOON, the studio. Minor Mishap Marching band and DJ Sober will provide live musical entertainment.
