Thursday is twenty something advice day here on GenPink. Today’s guest post is written by my friend Kaity who works in Advertising in Boston.

So … the 2008 Presidential Election is coming up and I am what you would call politically inept. To be honest, I just don’t have time - scratch that - I just don’t want to make time to read up on all the candidates. I want a go-to, one-stop-shop, that summarizes what every candidate stands for. I think the reason so many young people don’t vote, is because they don’t understand the issues at hand, what the candidates stand for, and don’t make time to find out. Because I am registered to vote and would like to "contribute" to the decision, I did some research on the candidates and websites that offer quick reads for busy people like me.

If you have time, MySpace & MTV teamed up and have videos and information on the election. It’s a lot of information and quite time consuming so be prepared (both sites have similar info):

Think MTV

I also found this quiz to help you determine the candidate that fits your needs. Only issue I had with this is that I didn’t understand all of the questions.
2008 SelectSmart.com Presidential Candidate Selector

This site allows you to compare candidates:

I thought CNN would offer something more wordy/political/targeted to an older audience - but surprisingly, they offer a lot of information for someone who doesn’t have a lot of time. Click on a candidate and find their bio at the top and their views on issues down the side.

If you find a better site, let me know!

If you are new and haven’t read the previous Twenty Something series, check them out:

What do you have to say? Would you consider yourself "politically inept"?
