Words to Live By in 2014

Success is not easy and is certainly not for the lazy

My friend Sam Davidson said in a blog post recently “Announcements are a dime a dozen – maybe even less expensive than that. If you want to do something valuable, don’t tell anyone. Get to work, finish it, and when you’re done, show us.”

I feel the same way about New Year’s Resolutions. I’m all for making declarations, setting intention, with measurable goals BUT I don’t feel like January 1 is the ultimate decider for these goals. In fact, world on the street is you don’t have to wait until January 1 to improve. But since it IS already January, why not set your goal and then make your announcements AFTER you accomplished a milestone towards your long-term plans. Life changes constantly and more often than not making a year long declaration after a week filled with sugar, and likely alcohol, may not be your best option.

So, instead of sharing my year-long plans (just yet) I thought I’d give you guys some of my favorite quotes that I plan on living by this year. (Click on each image to see the source)

a year from now you'll wish you'd started today

Be glad. Be good. Be brave.

Inspiration means nothing unless it's followed by creation. So get out there and create.

to be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.

Success is not easy and is certainly not for the lazy

Happy New Year! And cheers to making your dreams a reality in 2014!
