Dallas Bloggers: Our 10 favorite blog posts of 2015

2015 has been quite an incredible year for many of us. At GenPink, we’ve formed new friendships, experienced many new brands who align with our personal and career goals and attended a slew of fashion, charity and fitness events. I’ve aggregated 10 posts from Dallas-area bloggers (and one national blogger) to share with you below. Enjoy the reads!

Favorite workouts from 2015

I met Mai Lyn of Deep Fried Fit earlier this year at several free workout classes throughout town. If you’re into working out, head over to her fitness Instagram page, Dallas Fitness Ambassadors, to get the latest on free classes and activities in DFW. Check out her blog and social media pages on what’s coming up in town when it comes to fitness, including this post about her favorite workouts from 2015 at Dallas-based studios.

Dating tips and lifestyle events

When it comes to events in DFW, Dallas Single Mom’s Heather Buen is definitely in the know. She hits up the coolest family-friendly and adult-only events all over town. And when it comes to dating, she has a few tips to ease a sometimes-hectic dating life. Head to her blog to read how to not be an awkward wedding date.

Photography 101

Stephanie Drenka, a lifestyle blogger I’ve known for a few years, always has great photography tips and shots to share on her blog. Here’s a post about Stephanie’s visit to New York Fashion Week earlier this year as she photographed a few stylish bloggers in the heart of the city.

Designer fashion from top brands

Holly Quartaro, the official fashion stylist of Galleria Dallas and my fab co-worker, provides monthly “hot tips” about hand-picked styles that have never looked so good. Her latest post showcases adorable and cozy styles from top brands.

The town’s hottest events and society news

If you’re looking for the latest happenings in Dallas, head over to the Oh So Cynthia blog. My friend Cynthia Smoot blogs about a variety of things like fashion, reality TV, culture events and much more. Check out this article about the Real Housewives of Dallas airing in 2016.

Holiday gift guides from our favorite brands

Loubies and Lulu founder Andrea Overturf blogs about fitness, fashion and how to live a healthy lifestyle. One of my favorite posts on her blog from 2015 includes holiday gifts for her, which features a Fitbit bracelet from Tory Burch and a Kate Spade phone case charger.

Career tips

I’ve been following the Corporette blog ever since I graduated college. The author Kat Griffen publishes this blog for women in the workplace and “overachieving chicks.” She covers a wide range of topics such as having a work/life balance, trying out new office attire, and guide to interviewing. One of my favorite posts is office party etiquette.

Style, travel and food all in one

My buddy Alex Young features a ton of posts about men’s fashion, food and, my favorite, travel! Earlier this season, Alex visited Bangkok, Thailand for a once in a lifetime experience. Read about his incredible experience here.

Beauty tips and tricks

Denise Johnson, her husband and I all met in our early college days. So when I found out Denise launched a blog shortly after college, I was so excited for her. She even help start up an exclusive group for Dallas bloggers to collaborate on projects and find out about upcoming lifestyle and fashion events. I’ve picked up a few makeup tips lately from Denise on her blog Beauty and the Pleats. Here are some time-saving beauty hacks we can all benefit from.

Advice and fun for Gen-Y women

My blogger colleague and editor Elysa Ellis writes a variety of lifestyle posts for GenPink, a blog she started more than eight years go! Of the recent posts she’s written, I enjoyed reading about her advice on how to host a swap party. The event is an economical way to clean out your closet while having a party with your friends!
