The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

 The ringing of the bells signals the annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign is underway at NorthPark Center. The campaign raises money to support year-round programs provided by The Salvation Army’s 13 area centers.  Please consider sharing your spare change for this worthy cause.

The Trains at NorthPark™, presented by Bank of Texas, will celebrate its 26th anniversary this holiday season. The most elaborate miniature toy trains exhibit in Texas, The Trains at NorthPark™ includes trains rolling across 1,600 feet of track on a journey across America. Cityscapes include downtown Dallas, with the iconic Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, the State Fair of Texas and the Cotton Bowl; New York City’s Times Square and Grand Central Terminal; Washington, D.C. with The White House; New England’s fall foliage; the Grand Canyon, Route 66, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge and hot air balloons in Albuquerque. The exhibit encompasses train themed environments, with all the trimmings of the holiday train travel experience—steam engine and coach cars, a ticket booth and a train station. More than 80,000 people visit The Trains at NorthPark™ each season as part of their holiday tradition.

SPCA of Texas Home for the Holidays Pet Adoption Center

Level One Between Macy’s and Dillard’s

Celebrating its 23rd year, the SPCA of Texas’ Home for the Holidays Pet Adoption Center at NorthPark Center has provided special adoption experiences for more than 6,000 four-legged animals and their loving new families. Assistance is offered at select times to help families choose the right animals for their lifestyle. Adoption fees are $95 to $125 for puppies 0-6 months, $75 to $95 for dogs 6 months and older, $50 for senior dogs 7 years and older and $50 for VIP dogs (those that have been waiting for a home for over 30 days); $95 for kittens, $75 for cats, $50 for senior cats 7 years and older and $50 for VIP cats. The fee includes spay/neuter surgery, all age-appropriate vaccinations, de-worming treatment, a heartworm test for dogs six months and older, initial heartworm preventative for dogs, a feline leukemia test for cats four months and older, a microchip and a free leash or cardboard cat carrier.

Storytime with Santa Claus

Santa invites children to gather around his snow-capped cottage for a special storytime.  How do reindeers fly? Does Santa deliver presents to children all around the world? What do his little elves like to do for fun?  Santa has been telling tales at NorthPark for more than 20 years. Make it a part of your family’s holiday tradition.

Visits and Portraits with Santa Claus

Little boys and girls are invited to share holiday wish lists with NorthPark Center’s real Santa Claus.  Children feel right at home in Santa Claus’ cozy living room with fireplace, holiday tree and a comfy leather armchair.  Take photos with your own camera or purchase professional portraits by Marc Robins Photography.  Tickets are available starting at 9AM, Monday-Saturday, and 10AM on Sunday.

Scrooge Puppet Theatre

Celebrating his 36th year at NorthPark Center, Charles Dickens’ Scrooge comes to life through the magic of puppetry by John Hardman of Le Theatre de Marionette. Children of all ages giggle with delight as the comical Ebenezer Scrooge emerges from his half-timbered cottage at the bottom of every hour.  Come back time and again for this ever-changing performance and to see if Scrooge comes around just in time for Christmas.

Santa’s Toy Shoppe Puppet Theatre animates the story of a toymaker and a cast of entertaining characters working to get Santa’s toys completed in time for Christmas Eve delivery.

Performances include Metropolitan Winds, Dallas Ballet Company, Texas Ballet Theater School, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing & Visual Arts’ Repertory Dance I & II, Dallas Black Dance Theatre Academy, Collin County Ballet Theatre, Plano Children’s Theatre, Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestras, Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, among many others.

Join NorthPark Center for the ultimate holiday bake sale benefiting the North Texas Food Bank’s Cooking Matters™.  Presented by the Texas Chefs Association, dozens of premier chefs from area restaurants and catering companies present an assortment of gourmet cakes, sweets, pies and cookies available for purchase.  Cooking Matters™ empowers more than 15,000 families each year with the skills, knowledge and confidence to prepare healthy and affordable meals.  Treats of Christmas takes place in two locations, to be announced at a later date.
