Ring in the Holiday Fun with Dallas Summer Musicals

It’s holiday time, and Dallas Summer Musicals has some great shows for you to enjoy with family and friends this year.

I recently had the pleasure of checking out Dallas Summer Musicals’ production of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, The Sound of Music. It’s running through November 22, so if you have a chance to check it out this weekend, do it! You know the story: Maria, an impetuous young postulate at the abbey, becomes a governess for a stern Austrian admiral, and finds her way into his heart and the hearts of his children. As usual, DSM’s production has a fantastic and talented ensemble cast, with clever and beautiful sets, that all complement the soaring music. It’s a fun and touching production that will leave you singing, too.

Also coming up, just in time for Christmas, is Elf: The Musical! This DSM production will run from December 8 to December 20. I know some of the GenPink contributors are really looking forward to this one. Holiday hijinks ensue when Buddy, a human who was raised as an elf at the North Pole, goes to New York to find his father – and teaches us all a little something about the spirit of Christmas.

Tickets for both The Sound of Music and Elf: The Musical are on sale now at Dallas Summer Musicals.
