How to Throw a Birthday Party For Your Dog: 4 steps

Did you know Americans spend an estimated $60 billion on their pets last year (up by more than $12 billion from just five years ago)?? And a lot of the expenses go toward BIRTHDAYS! Because, why not celebrate your little one with friends and other dogs too!

The Noseprint, a popular canine culture destination created by the makers of Milk-Bone and Milo’s Kitchen, teamed up with major lifestyle site Brit + Co. to help dog parents throw their furry kids the ultimate birthday bash.

Here are four easy steps to throw a birthday bash for your pup, below.

1. STEP UP YOUR ‘TREATING GAME’
If you’re throwing your dog a birthday party, chances are you like to treat them. So on their special day, take it up a notch by putting out water bowls garnished with cucumber or building an edible log cabin (instead of birthday cake) made out of stackable treats like Milk-Bone or Pup-Peroni.

2. TAIL-OR TO YOUR DOG’S PERSONALITY

Since it’s your dog’s day, make sure you design the party as something he’ll actually enjoy. Does your dog like to be around lots of other pups, or does she prefer an intimate gathering with a few ‘fur friends?’ Does he love wearing hats and other accessories that make him the center of attention, or does he prefer to be ‘au naturel?’

3. DON’T FUR-GET THE HUMANS
Let’s face it: An occasion for dogs to get together is really an occasion for their humans to have fun, too. Make delicious human treats, like bone-shaped breadsticks (by tying knots at the end of pre-made dough), and provide picnic blankets to encourage puppy-human bonding time on the lawn.

4. MAKE ‘DOGGY BAGS’
This one is a no-brainer! Give your four-legged guests a souvenir bag filled with personalized (or pup-sonalized) DIY leather dog tags and all the essentials, like treats and tennis balls.
